This rare Belle Kogan Elongated Dot bracelet dates from the 1930-40s. It is 5/8" wide with a 2.5" interior diameter and weighs 23 grams. The bracelet is a solid cherry red color and the eight dots have a lovely aged gold patina. Belle Kogan was an industrial designer based in New York who did a variety of designs for household products, but is probably best known for her unique design of Bakelite bracelets. Her bracelet designs featured elongated dots that went from oval shapes (like this one) to stretched dots that often covered an entire side of the bracelet.I included a picture of the various Belle Kogan designed bracelets that were featured on page 44 of "The Bakelite Jewelry Book" by Davidov and Dawes. (Photo #7) This gold dot on red design is shown in the picture as the fourth bracelet from the bottom. Over the decades since first made these bracelets have gotten more scarce and today are VERY rare! This bracelet is in excellent vintage condition with no chips or cracks. The bracelet tested positive for Bakelite using Simichrome polish. This item is in the category "Jewelry & Watches\Vintage & Antique Jewelry\Bracelets & Charms".
