The doll in green has slightly lighter brown hair with blonde streaks, and an outfit with a midriff top and bell bottom pants. I have pinned a "Peace" pin to the ribbon she has tied around her waist. Both dolls have the brown rubber open toe and heel strap sandals so popular in the "hippie" generation. The doll in pink and white check "granny gown" has long sleeves and a high neck, but a rakishly high slit in her skirt.
This doll has a colorful bead necklace with a "Peace Heart" on it. This type of clothing and jewelry were very popular in the 1960s -- a combination of simple, conservative and modern. NOTE: The guitar has real nylon strings and tuning pegs and a great cloth daisy guitar strap. It is size appropriate and fits into the doll's hands beautifully. It can be held in her hands as shown or slung over one shoulder.
She is fun to pose with it. Both dolls have the "guitar" hands, so either doll could hold the instrument. These dolls are very rare. I have not seen any in this good a condition. They have been in my personal collection for years, but I was not their original owner.
They are truly vintage'60s. I was in college in the 60s in California and their dress and look is so reminiscent of what I remember from the Flower Power and Flower Children era. Music, folk songs, free love, long straight hair, simply styles. I will sell them individually. I take great care to wrap and pack my dolls to ensure they do not move around in transit. No props in the photos are included in this listing, only the dressed dolls with their accessories as shown, and doll stands. They will be insured and come to you with signature confirmation.
